GigaSpaces Announces Launch of Version 5 of its Award-Winning Platform Delivers key services for mission-critical distributed applications and benchmarked for linear-scalability, high-performance and reliability In an effort to meet growing demand for high-performance, low-latency transactional systems in Financial Services, Telecommunications, Defense and other industries, GigaSpaces Technologies today announced that it has launched version 5 of its award winning infrastructure software solution. The new version is shipped in two editions: a full-scale Enterprise Edition and an entry-level Caching Edition. GigaSpaces Enterprise Edition provides application developers with a robust infrastructure for developing and deploying dynamic, linearly-scalable applications in order to meet the exponential increase in transaction volumes of high-performance, business-critical systems. This new version aims to remove, under a single platform, the middleware bottlenecks associated with data access, data processing, and data distribution. Its product architecture allows application programmers to write their business logic once and transparently scale the application linearly and on-demand across any number of machines. GigaSpaces Caching Edition encompasses a subset of the Enterprise Edition functionality, and effectively delivers a highly scalable, high-performance Distributed Caching solution. This solution is ideal for application scenarios that require very-high performance by reducing access times to distributed, in-memory data. This solution includes built-in configuration and support for common caching scenarios such as Replicated Cache, Partitioned Cache, and Master-Local Cache with both in-memory transient and data-base persistent modes. It also includes a unique combination of an object-based data model and In Memory Datagrid (IMDG) capabilities through a hybrid implementation of SQL based queries and the JavaSpaces and JCache APIs. GigaSpaces' Enterprise and Caching Editions have been independently and consistently benchmarked in very demanding distributed environments, encompassing more than 2000 commodity, hyper-threaded CPUs. Some of the benchmark metrics include loading more than 2 Terabytes of data in 20 minutes and the processing 800 million events in less than 100 minutes. New to Version 5, which combines advanced services such as distributed data caching, distributed messaging and parallel processing: * A Pro-Active cache that automates the deployment, scaling and fail-over of GigaSpaces instances over a pool of commodity HW resources through a single point of access; * Performance improvements in replication and partitioned cache deployment as well as optimizations for highly concurrent applications running on multi core environments; * Transparent, parallel query (including SQL query support) capabilities that enable applications to run distributed parallel queries on very-large distributed and partitioned in-memory data sets; * Enhanced out of the box support for .Net and C++ interfaces providing high-performance integration of heterogonous environments; * CacheStore/Load capabilities allowing tight integration and data load from existing data sources for transparent data virtualization; * Out of the box integration with leading J2EE servers (WebLogic, JBoss, WebSphere) ; * Improved documentation, developer forum, and out of the box tutorials and examples on variety of common use cases; * Enhanced management GUI support for configuration management, monitoring activities, measuring statistics and performing variety of real time performance benchmarks and testing; * Distributed interactive command shell enabling interaction with the pro-active cache as well as utilize the grid to enable distributed execution of user defined tasks through Ant support. The new release also includes early access to POJO support through Spring and Mule that was developed collaboratively with interface21, SymphonySoft and a tier-1 financial services institution in the US.
