And there I was about to do the 1.0 release of Eros.....;)

I have been mulling these changes over for a few days, so I have a few questions

* What does this mean to the TOC, operating in/out the ASF process?
	- How does this affect the makeup, specifically the splits between the houses?
	- Can the TOC and JDP work side by side as cooperating but distinctly
separate entities?

* Can the jini.org CollabNet CVS areas be group copied to
dev.java.net, thus preserving CVS versions etc.?
	- Should we be looking to migrate source now?
	- Could there be a top-level project (say jini.apache.org) that can
hold other projects (in the same way as jakarta and xml apache
projects)?
	

(BTW for me this is pretty important given how many projects I've got
concurrently running at jini.org :) )

* What is the view over the new jini.org website?
	- How will it be funded?
	- Is development of the site going to be limited towards Apache commiters?
	- Is it going to be collaborative development, say a wiki?


* JCMs
	- Will these be happening after JCM 10? (BTW, any ideas on where
JCM10 will be? ;)
	- How will these be funded/sponsored post JCM10?
	- Will these be wrapped up into ApacheCon; does this further
visibility, or make us lose some identity?

* Work
	- Will the present Jini team be allowed to commit some time to Jini
(JTSK and specs), or in 'becoming users' is this door now closed to
the core jini developers?
	- Can this work in a similar vein as JXTA?

* Blog
	- Are some more of you guys going to blog yet??????? ;)


All in all, I think this will be a huge step forward for the
community, and the technology.

But I must stress this to anyone that doesn't want people to know they
are using Jini (you know who you are! [mutter, competitive advantage,
mutter]), that if we do go into the incubator process at Apache you
_must_ stand up and be counted in whatever way you can, or this great
technology might just disappear into the ether - something that I'm
sure no-one on this community wants.

Thanks to the Jini team for this move, and indeed all the hard work
over the past few years.
