Hi all-
We are getting closer towards an exciting 10th Jini Community
meeting (JCM), set for Brussels, Belgium on September 13-14, 2006.
With all of the changes in websites, etc -- we have:
**** extended the Call for Papers through this Friday (July 28th).
Please go to <http://www.jini.org> and follow the links to the
meeting page to propose a talk.
We've had a lot of great talks already submitted, but we are in
need of a few more -- so please consider sharing your project, designs,
deployment, or general community thoughts in a talk (they can be
short or long). We've always had a diversity of talks, which make it
fun and interesting. This is a call to action to help make a great
Community meeting - thanks.
We're also doing something new at this JCM... publishing a list of
participants ahead of time. When someone registers, we ask them
if they'd be okay with publishing their name (and company, blog)
in the meeting area, and if they agree, we publish the information:
participants.html>
Of course, there are some who can not, or do not want their information
published (and that's certainly fine), but we're thankful to those
that can as we're hoping it will be a catalyst for you deciding to
participate in the meeting. After all - it's the discussions and
connections made (oh, and of course the Watering holes ;-)) that
help make the JCMs such special events.
For those looking to register for the meeting - you'll find the
registration link off the main meeting page on Jini.org. Also
note that the group room rate we have at the Hotel Le Plaza (site of
the event) is available through August 4th. Instructions are on
the meeting page.
Any questions - just let me know.
thanks -Jim
ps. Even though the event is titled "Community Meeting"... this is
an OPEN, educational, free, and fun event for anyone interested in
Jini technology/Community. There's no special "community membership
card" needed to attend ;-) Join in.
