Hi Gregg:

        Thank you for responding.  Blitz is my next step.  I was hoping to use
Outrigger because I've already got it running inside a Harvester
container, whereas I'll have to either deploy Blitz separately or write
a wrapper to run inside Harvester (not a bad idea anyway, but extra
work).

        I've played with -Xmx settings up to 1GB; I always get the
out-of-memory condition, it just takes more operations.  I'm in the
process of trying to track it down with the Netbeans profiler.  One
thing that's interesting is that although the "Used Memory" indicator
always gets to the total heap size, the detail results show only a tiny
fraction of that memory.  I don't know whether that's a sampling
artifact or whether the memory is going somewhere that the profiler
doesn't pick up.
