I shamefully admit I've never configured the TTL so I have no experience
with it, but although Dan's response suggest otherwise it was my
understanding too a TTL of 0 wouldn't let the packets escape the host
(some Multicast IPv4 FAQ confirms this), but I've no idea what kind of
issues there are with the various IP stacks and whether there is a
difference with regard to IPv4/IPv6.
