And the last thing I'll mention is that this whole behaviour is a co-operative effort between Jini, IP stacks and the network itself so there's plenty of room for unexpected behaviours. Rikard, given what you are claiming you've configured and the behaviours you're describing I'd be digging out my packet sniffer to see what's going on because there are too many variables: (1) You might've misconfigured something (2) You might've forgotten to configure something (3) You might've forgotten to restart something (4) You might have an errant network stack on one or more hosts.
