A few questions: 1- What definition of SOA are you trying to implement? I find SOA open to interpretation and so any specifics would be great. 2- Existing infrastructure + work to implement SOA != cost savings on the investment. It sounds like the cost savings might be reaped after everything is in place. Calculating the initial cost to re- work without a re-write is the hard part. With SOA being one of the newer "things", and if Jini is to be used to implement SOA, I would start by making sure that I have people who have been doing Jini for quite some time. Have you done any smaller scale prototypes as an example of the task at hand? 3- Why do you think that Jini can be of use to achieve your objectives?
