I'm not sure that giving the source code a cursory scan to see if there
were any comments mentioning the case I described counts as intimate
knowledge.  I feel like it would take me months of study to even begin
to understand the complexities that lie behind that deceptively simple
interface!

I have been periodically following Jini as it moves into the Incubator.,
and I may well take a keener interest in River.

Does anybody know when River will be available to download, as River;
and not the Suns Jini starter pack?
