asynchronous processing

I am curious what people are using for asynchronous processing and queues in Jini. I am used to a J2EE world where you just drop things into a JMS queue so my first thought is to run independent JMS servers and have those register themselves as services. It also looks like something could be rigged up with JavaSpaces, but I don't see any persistence offered with that so it seems like there is risk for data loss should machines crash etc. Perhaps that is a misunderstanding on my part though. So my question: What are people using for asynchronous processing with Jini? Thanks.
