EJBException vs RemoteException

Hi,

Can someone please comment on EJB3's approach of favoring
javax.ejb.EJBException as a RuntimeException as opposed to JINI's
RemoteException as a checked exception. What if anything changed? Was it
a simple matter of the unpopularity of checked exceptions or is there an
actual difference between the use-cases of the two?

Thank you,
Gili
