Currently, a reproduction case would involve a full installation of matlab, so I will try to bring it down to something smaller. I'll get back to you on that. I see this with JDK 1.4.2 and 1.5.0. This never occurs on Windows or Mac PPC, occurs approx. 50% of the time on 64-bit linux, nearly always on 32-bit Linux and Solaris.
