GJTAPI Version 1.7 released

The GJTAPI team has just released version 1.7 of their Java telephony framework. This release includes some bug fixes, an expansion of the properties file lookup algorithm and preliminary support for JSR #122 - JAIN Jcat (0.3.1). Of course, it also supports JTAPI 1.3.1, with core, JTAPI 1.2 and JTAPI 1.3 media, most of callcontrol and privatedata There are native service providers for dialogic and analog modems, with a bridge that allows the XTAPI service providers to also be used (note that since XTAPI does not support callcontrol or privatedata, these parts of GJTAPI will not work with an XTAPI service provider). Work is underway on a SIP provider and there are also bridge providers that support: - Multiplexing multiple telephony systems into one unified space - Layering GJTAPI over other JTAPI implementations through an inverter - Remote access or a service provider (or another JTAPI implementation) using rmi, corba or xml-rpc (aka web services or SOAP) JAIN Jcat is the call control extension to JAIN Jcc and adds some filtering support as well as new call control methods and events, such as conference and transfer. The specification is not yet complete and we're waiting for some fixes to identified problems before adding support for four features: 1. DisplayText management 2. Registration/deregistration of Addresses and Terminals from each other. 3. Park, suspend, resumeConnection 4. AddressEvent.getTerminal() and TerminalEvent.getAddress This is the first known Jcat implementation and will provide telephony developers interested in JAIN Jcat the ability to start doing initial testing and development. Since the JAIN Jcat team has not released source code, we have done this for them. It is released in its own package.
