You'll need these events if the same is true, and you'll need to construct a terminal as well. If you're willing to work outside the box of JTAPI, there are alternatives using a completely different approach that requires packet analysis and call assembly (you essentially build your own interface to getting notifications). I did this for a call logger implementation where the customers wanted to categorize calls by type of answering/event type (e.g. Human, Answering Machine, ring no answer, busy, communications error). This proved to allow us additional flexibility that the underlying infrastructure provided. Too bad the big "A" acquired the company and shut all the work down. You may want to use these events. To get these events an observer is needed on the terminal. -----Original Message----- From: Discussion list for Java Telephony API [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Jason Sent: Monday, May 02, 2005 11:32 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [JTAPI] analog line connection established event Hi all, I'm trying to place an outbound call on an analog line using Cisco's CM 4.0 provider and am unable to tell when the callee has picked up the phone. I came across this in the archives http://archives.java.sun.com/cgi-bin/wa?A2=ind0403&L=jtapi-interest&F=&S =&P=1395 I assume I'll have to analyze the incoming media stream to detect answers, busy signals, etc. Does anyone know of a good third party component that can do this? Or any other possible workarounds?
