And there's one more thing about custom caller Ids:

The Carrier on the other end also has to support it. In the SS12
protocol, there are two numbers. Normally, they are the same, but when
you send custom caller IDs, one is your custom caller ID and one becomes
the main number of your trunk.. and not every carrier shows your
customer caller ID in this scenario - some will send the trunk number to
the subscriber on the other end.
