The company is looking for a [b]hands-on[/b] mobile software expert to be responsible for the company’s handset architecture. [b][u]Position Overview[/u][/b] The Lead Handset Architect will be responsible for • Defining the handset architecture and multi-platform support strategy • Working with a focused development team to implement the solution • Mentoring the team and building internal mobile expertise, and • Working with the server-side architects and product managers to ensure a cohesive end-to-end solution. Experience in developing and commercializing mobile systems and services is essential. The ability and desire to roll up your sleeves and contribute directly is a must. [b] [u]Requirements[/u]•[/b] Advanced degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering • 6-10 years experience in handset development, with mobile media player architecture experience • Knowledge and experience in mobile network protocols and programming in 2G and 3G environments • [b]Java ME[/b], Windows Mobile,[b] Symbian[/b] and BREW platform expertise • Deep Java and C/C++ programming experience on multi-threaded, resource-constrained devices • Excellent architecture and design skills, including use of design patterns and UML • Knowledge of industry standards and protocols relevant to the mobile space, including DVB-H, OMA, and XML • Outstanding written and verbal communications skills • Self-starter - Ability to take on multiple tasks and roles If interested, please send me your resume (word doc).
