It's also worth noting however that I hear that Nokia and Motorola both do a 'lender' programme for developers who want to do testing on particular phones. Not sure what the restrictions are for how many you can 'borrow' at a time though... I think there's also a service which can take your in-development apps and they deploy them out to a testbase of users for you, but I can't remember what that was called... I think the jist of things though is that there isn't the shortcut that you're looking for!
