Sun SPOT capabilities

After reading Terrence's recent blog about Sun SPOTs, I've decided that they're pretty much the coolest thing. From what I understand, Sun SPOTs are CLDC 1.1 enabled - so I was wondering how the sensors are accessed from Java ME?
