Job description:

The Senior Programmer Analyst supports the implementation and maintenance of the title III funded project Student Success Plan
(SSP).This position gathers user requirements, designs, and codes software in the development of SPP. This person is required to
innovate and develop out of the box solutions delivering commercial level software to the student population. 

The pay range for this position is $40,725 to $54,300. 
Principal Accountabilities Lead meeting to gather user requirements. 

Programming primarily in Java. 

Learn the academic database, its relationships and native query language. 

Learn existing Java architecture. 

Provide support and troubleshooting assistance to systems personnel. 

Develop technical documentation of all designed code. 

Support the Web Systems department in development of the SSP software. 

Participate on team meeting giving advice and status updates. 
Requirements Minimum Requirements 
- Required to hold a nationally accredited Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management
Information Systems or equivalent. 
- Minimum 3 years development experience in Java. 
- Must have knowledge or developed Java RMI applications. 
- Expert knowledge of XML. 
- Intermediate Unix experience to include basic shell scripting. 
- Ability to understand and use 3rd party commercial/open source Java API's. 

Preferred (not required) 
Sun Java Certification and/or Developer Certification 
Unidata/Universe database knowledge. 
Datatel Colleague knowledge. 
Experience working in higher education.
