The RMI specification is silent on the question of whether RMI stubs are thread-safe *in the client*. Of course they are, and they would be in any useful implementation, but it's a curious omission from the specification. Is it deliberate? i.e. is it really envisaged to permit a non-thread-safe implementation of stubs?
