Peter Considering that the RMI API and implementation has been extremely quiet for a while, and considering things like: the fundamentally broken state of RMI/SSL; the ongoing java.rmi.server.hostname issues; the lack of an SPI architecture; and a few other things I could think of under pressure, are there any plans for a JSR for RMI revisions in Java 1.8?
