Remote shell simulation

Hi All,

I am considering writing what amounts to a terminal emulator I guess,
however commands entered would be executed by (and on) a remote host
with the output on the local terminal emulator, pretty much the same
as telnet or ssh. Would RMI be a good way to implement this? I am
really going through all the possibilities in my head however this is
a new are for me so I am not that sure where it is best to start.
