XML validation question

Hi gang,
not exactly a servlet question but it is being called from a
servlet so flame me accordingly: What is the current Sun tool used for
validating xml files against schemas? I have been using MSV but the
version from 2002 and I believe but am not sure that Sun has
incorporated this into some other package. What other freeware
validation tools are out there that folks would recommend?
