When is ServletContextListener.contextDestroyed called

Hi! Maby a stupied q, but I really want to make sure. I've looked at the servlet2.3 spec and I can't find anything about when this really get's called. Is it so, that it happends only when you stop the web application? Or is it up the the ventor when this is called?
