Interoperability Workshop - Call for Papers


We cordially invite you to submit your papers to the Middleware
Interoperability of Enterprise Applications (MIEA) Workshop, which will be part
of the International Symposium on Information and Communication Technologies
(ISICT'03) in Dublin, Ireland.

However, for your convenience, we have included a summary of the workshop focus:

Modern middleware technologies promote the widespread integration and
interaction of all enterprise applications within a business. Yet, due to
legacy systems and varying technological needs, compatibility is the exception
rather than the norm. The MIEA workshop focuses on the problems and solutions
in the field of interoperability specifically the technologies and techniques
which allow smooth interaction between different enterprise technologies.

Possible Topics include but are not limited to:

* Software engineering approaches such as design patterns, methodologies (e.g.
MDA), and best practices.

* Specific middleware technologies and their interoperability issues. For
example new middleware approaches, bridges, legacy system integration etc.

* Development of frameworks for interoperability or application integration.

* XML based interoperability solutions including XMI-based meta modeling, Web
Services, and XML dialects.

* Integration of new types of client technologies, such as mobile clients or
agent systems.

* Problems of interoperable systems. Performance, scalability and stability
issues and their solutions.

In order to promote the exchange between research and practice this session is
not limited to theoretical work. Submissions can be pure research, experience
reports, or combinations of both.
