As the previous post noted, your question is quite generic.  You say you are writing a document on XML and E-business.  There are entire series of books written on the topic.  If I were trying to write on such a broad topic, I would be at my local Borders or Barnes and Noble bookstore (being in America).  Just skimming those type of current books would give you an overall picture of the XML/E-Business situation.  Same is true for browsing the magazine section of the local bookstore.  At a minimum, you would be able to figure out what areas you want to concentrate on.

I got involved with XML only a year ago and my personal experience was that, unless you've actually worked with it, it is pretty hard to grasp all of the issues.  My early, uniformed, impression of XML and my current understanding of XML are light-years apart.  This probably is not the answer you were looking for but delving into XML requires a paradigm shift to use it effectively.  The problems experienced by a novice and an expert will be different, whether the application is E-Business or, in my case, data sharing between different analysis packages.

BTW, you picked a very-low trafic mailing list.  My other subscribed technical detail XML lists are much more active.
