Thanks for your interest in XMLSPY.  I think you've got a namespace
problem. Essentially namespaces are similar to java packages, it's a way
to avoid XML naming colisions. Your instance document declares a
namespace, yet the XML Schema does not declare a target namespace. 

In java-speak, a similar, (yet not exact) analogy would be as if you
defined a class file with no package name, then tried to create an
object belonging to that class, but added a package name to the object.
Of course you'll get an error from the java compiler saying it cant
resolve the class.

Try using the following code instead which uses the default namepace as
the target namespace for the XML Schema:

Of course, this brings up an intersting point - that the XMLSPY Schema
Generator should infer target namespaces based on any namespaces
introduced in the instance document...

I'm struggling in defining a proper XML schema for following XML file:

E.g. XMLSpy suggests the XML schema:

Validation of the XML file returns the error:
"Root element of document 'vd.xml' is not defined in schema document or
part of wrong namespace"

I guess the second assumption is correct, but is there somebody to make
a better job than XMLSpy?
