Re: XSL resources

There is no "short and sweet" answer to XSL, especially if you are not well-versed in XML.  I have spent months becoming fluent in XML and XSL and now Java (as it relates to XML).  I own, and can recommend:
"XSLT" by Doug Tidwell from O'Reilly
"XSLT 2nd Edition" by Michael Kay from WROX

Depending what you really need XSL for, look at:
"XSL-FO" from O'Reilly
"XPath and XPointer" from O'Reilly
