Re: long running response component?

Hi Joe,

At work we are using ESRI's web based GIS (Geographical Information System). 
Its basically a JavaScript client (8K lines) running in the browser talking 
to a Java Servlet via XML, pretty amazing.

When its pulling down maps (500KB) to display from the server it throws a up 
a "busy" animated gif as a layer. Take a look at the demos:
