Specifying column width in Table Component

I want to use the existing Table components as much as possible, but I
can't seem to find a way to specify a column width using the
SimpleTableColumn component. Has anyone found a good way around this? I
hesitate to do too much work in that direction because Mind Bridge has
said that he plans on introducing a more extensible column header
rendering system.. (I think).. but all I really want is to add a
width="100%" to one of the columns so I can control which one gets
maximized...
 
Has anyone else dealt with this?
