I know Aaron well.  We have had several conversations and shared a beer 
or two at Common Conferences in the past.  Very good guy.  Smart.  Loves 
the i and is under 30 !

Where I have seen tn5250j show up lately was as an eclipse plugin 
(something *I* was going to do if I ever got the time) and some 
discussion of a web version that would deliver JSON data to be 
consumed.  Sort of like what you had done, and I played with, with the 
web5250 stuff.  Except the consumer would be something like jQuery that 
would render/respond to the JSON/5250 stream.  It would actually be a 
cool little tool that would allow you to login and grab some IBM i data 
and interact with the i.  Plus it would be a relatively lightweight 5250 
browser application.   That discussion fell out of a discussion on 
midrange.com that was then picked up by a developer of ICEBreak who 
prototyped a JSON based 5250 browser using RPG to generate the JSON.

5250 is still alive and well on the i, despite the many reports of its 
demise!

I may end up with some additional time in the summer since a contract 
that I have had with an i customer may not be renewed this year. If so, 
I might have time for more "fun" (but less profitable) work on tn5250j 
plus other things.

Good yo see you back here.  It has be WAY too quiet. 

Also, there were some posts from an Italian company that had some 
interest in enhancing tn5250j as well (last September/October).  Did 
they ever contact you?  What became of that?
