config problem

I am beginning to learn RPGIV, so I now connect to two different AS/400 
boxes.  I need to start opening a session with a particular background 
for the production box, and another with a different background for the 
development box.  I can't seem to figure out how to do this.  I have 
tried using a separate props files for each connection, and opening each 
in a new frame or JVM, but to no avail.  I have specified the props file 
in the properties for the connections, it seems as though when nothing 
is specified the connection uses the TN5250JDefault.props file, and when 
something is specified, the window loads with a default configuration, 
completely ignoring anything in the props file.
Any suggestions?
