hi Arun,

in general, ./configure && make && make install is what you need to get 
the build going, provided that you have all the requirements installed. 
Since Kaffe
is packaged for Ubuntu, you can simply use that version, if that's what 
you need, and fetch the dependencies using sudo apt-get build-depend kaffe,
if you want to build it from source.

On windows, you need to follow the documentation in the FAQ/FAQ.win32 
file, since Kaffe has not been packaged for Cygwin yet.
