Hi,

I am not familiar with AIX but I suspect it is an assembler issue.

Is your system using the GNU assembler?  If not, there might be some problems. 
I had to rewrite the assembly code at some point to work on both GNU as and
Apple's OS X assembler.

Is the RS6000 a PowerPC or a POWER architecture?  They differ in some instructions.
