1.1.9 is a *very* old version.  In particular the problems with
Swing/AWT segfaulting are all solved, along with a few other bugs, in
1.11.3.

where Rene Wagner says he made SableVM 1.11.3 available in OpenEmbedded.
I am not a OE/OZ/Familiar user, but I'd hope that there is a way to
install a newer package from OE into Familiar.
