Map variables, docs?

Guys,

I'm trying to find docs on webmacro.org for the map syntax that was 
added to WM. i.e.

#set $mymap = { "a":"apple", "b":"bee" }

I can't find anything, i.e. about what type of object is put in the 
context as a result, and what properties and methods exist on it.

Is it a Map or a Hashtable or something else?

We need docs on this in the "expressions" part of the script trail as 
currently it doesn't seem to exist anywhere.

I'll write some up (if I can remember my wiki login) if someone can give 
me the basic info.
