Velocity has a much bigger and active user base, and hence more tools and add-ons exist for it already. However Velocity tools that are effectively Java beans should work fine in WebMacro too. 2. WebMacro has much nicer syntax and pluggable directives (i.e. #yourDirective) 3. My gut says WebMacro -may- perform better, but I've not seen any comparisons - now that would be interesting to port Lane's WM performance unit tests to use Velocity :) 4. WebMacro is slightly held back by its Broker mechanism which makes it slightly more difficult to integrate/embed in other applications - but this is not a big deal for normal usage. 5. WebMacro is the original :) I blogged a bit about this the other day: http://www.jroller.com/page/wangjammer5/Weblog -- Marc Palmer Managing Director, AnyWare Ltd. ------------------------------------------------------- SF.Net email is sponsored by: Discover Easy Linux Migration Strategies from IBM.
