Interestingly IBM's product doesn't work quite like this. It /does/ use 
a database to persist 'case' (they call them process instance) state. 
JMS only gets involved for the 'control' links, i.e. scheduling what to 
run next (or in parallel). As I say, more on this later when I get time 
to finish my other e-mail ;)
