As discussed on the dev mailing list I provide this patch which adds support for the generated parameter of Version, Timestamp and Property. The patch also includes updates to the affected Test Cases.

Please be aware that the generated parameter will be ignored by Hibernate if a property is mapped inside a component. I've raised that issue within the Hibernate team and it appears that Steve Ebersole is currently about to test a patch.
