I would recommend to use m2-xd2-plugin of version
2.0.5
Just to be sure we are apeaking of the same
stacktraces :)

                <groupId>xdoclet</groupId>
               
<artifactId>maven2-xdoclet2-plugin</artifactId>
                <version>2.0.5</version>

( You know, debugging m2 mojos is a PITA )
