I think this is the same problem, but may simply be closely related.

XDoclet throws a null pointer exception when running JMXDoclet JBoss subtasks on beans marked up with @jmx.notification if only the name (and description) are specified in the tag. You need to supply a notificationType attribute for the task to complete successfully.

Also, it looks like the line of failure is being misreported in the NPE. I get the error reported on line 8 but it actually happens much lower down as far as I can see. The part of the XDT that deals with notifications uses a forAllClassTagTokens tag - which at a glance you would expect to just miss out any notifications that didn't have the type set...
