speed of CVS Hibernate module version

Hello, I'm using a XDoclet 1.3 snapshot (3 days old) to generate Hibernate mapping files. Unfortunately it is a lot slower than version 1.2.3. I know 1.3 is not finished yet, but is there anything I can do to speed it up? I also noticed that the tags changed and I'm getting hints in the mapping files to use them. Does this have anything to do with it?
