Can I migrate from HSQL to MySQL?

Hello!
I need to migrate my database from HSQL to MySQL. 
I'm working with xplanner.script (hsql script) some hours and so I got an
script that transforms HSQL's inserts to MySQL's inserts.
But I got a problem with the charset used in HSQL strings that is different
from my MySQL db (ok, it isn't the only one nor the biggest one, it's just
the last problem: the question is that I don't like then and I am looking
for a easier solution : ) 

Do you know any way to simplify my life?
Can XPlanner do this himself?
