Packed vs. Unpacked - x/y trap semantics

If a box is packed, will the core put (but not write) to x/y if the
boxes position changes relative to it's parent and x/y are trapped?

That would pretty much cover any concerns with dropping PosChange
although it'll leave a similar debate as to whether it's going to be
confusing to have x/y be put to by the core when packed but by the users
when unpacked.
