I was going to go through the archives, pointing out in painful detail 
exactly when (over a dozen times) that you implicitly endorsed widget 
development on Nitrogen going back to August of 2003.

I was going to point out they reasons why Charlie is 100% correct  in 
the last couple emails he posted to core.

I was going to make this a typical "we've got problems" gripe session.

And a great big warning:
We are days if not hours away from forking. Not a soft fork, not a fork 
that tries to get its changes pushed to core.ibex.org. A great big, hard 
to reverse, fork. Separate servers, separate lists, etc. This is not 
what I want to happen. This is not what anyone wants to happen. But, 
there is a pervasive feeling among the other people that have been 
involved in xwt/ibex that it is becoming increasingly necessary.

I'm not going to speak for anyone else; they can make their own feelings 
known or not as they choose. Suffice it to say that I would be very 
surprised if there were fewer than 5 active contributors to the fork (on 
day one), and equally surprised if there was more than one remaining 
contributor (you) to the ibex branded version.

Let me re-emphasise a certain point: I don't want this to happen!

The only reason I'm writing this in the first place is the rather faint 
hope that I might prevent it from happening. If it does happen, we all 
lose. But the current situation is untenable.

We have the xwt.org home page that says that Nitrogen will be released 
in September, 2003.(7 months ago).
We have a project leader that is making blatantly false statements in 
order to defend his actions.
We have api changes by fiat.
We have irrational closing of bugs due to either capriciousness or 
laziness (i.e. failure to actually read and comprehend the bug).
We have what can only be described as a hostile deveopment environment.
(This was by no means a complete list of problems)

I'm not going to ask for specific changes right now. But I am going to 
ask you one (multi-part) question:
Are you willing to carefully listen to other members of the Ibex team 
(if I can still call it that), and are you willing to make active 
efforts to change your own behavior in response to the problems that 
have gotten us to this point? In short, do you want to keep ibex as a 
group effort, or would you prefer to develop on your own?
