to post a few XWT links in the comments on this story.  :-(

I also had the ear of a consultant who makes his living travelling over North 
America doing unix training for businesses for over two hours today.  He's 
all but sold on XWT since we were able to show him some of the work we've 
been doing with the sales app, and all the work Rod and Charlie have been 
doing with the widget set.  He visited xwt.org a few days prior but had not 
been able to get anything working.

(yes I will post this to the wiki as soon as I can get a screenshot of the 
entire process... :-)

I've been whispering about XWT at the local LUG and perl user groups but it 
doesn't go far since practically everyone uses Mozilla (and even those that 
use Konqueror get segfaults when the latest shoehorn tries to execute 
xwt.linux).

Emiliano's in a similar position.

Adam, is there anything we can do to help you in getting the shoehorn fixed 
up?  It seems like there's a lot of activity in the world right now looking 
for something that XWT solves VERY easily.  I don't know if it's just because 
the shoehorn's playing up (Murphy's law) or what, but in the last few weeks 
the need for the demos and shoehorn to work has become a very big issue with 
a lot of us on the list.

I am sure I am speaking for everyone here when I say that we appreciate 
everything you've given us... the engine, initial widget set, launcher, 
straightforward CVS build environment, all the time, energy and effort you've 
put into this without a cent of payback...  The key to advertising and 
screaming this technolgy out at the top of our lungs is all that is missing.

... well that, and having the server that the 4/5 of the widgets uses back 
online would go a long way too.  :-)

Even if you could import the shoehorn into CVS with a note saying what you 
feel needs to be done so that people like Corey and Rod and myself could hack 
on it, even just enough so that Emiliano can get Moz working...  I am sure 
it'd go a long way in getting XWT some real face time with the people who 
decide the tasks for people like Charlie and Emilano and myself.

I personally am totally hooked on this technology (I don't think that's too 
obvious, nahhhh...) -- Adam, what can we do to help you?
