I tried http://launch.xwt.org/027A/www.xwt.org/demo.xwar

It gets a little further this time; I see the shoehorn starting and 
loading until about 63%. All the while the status line says 'Opening 
http://dist.xwt.org/xwt-027A.cab. At 63% the shoehorn turns red and 
shows the now-familiar 'Error; please check the Java console', which in 
turn says:
