If you have a machine outside the FW that you control, it's pretty trivial to get CVS (possibly in combo with rsync) going unless you have really competent (and paranoid) IT staff. You just hop the FW by using an SSH server on port 80 (if you're behind a packet filter) or SSH over a proxy-patched stunnel (if you're behind a proxy).
