I think that the logic is something along the lines of... if one of your intranet machines is comrpomised, somebody could then plant an xwar on your intranet and everything xmlrpc is comrpomised. By the way, in the interests of list coureousy, could people please only keep the quotes in their emails that are needed to keep context and illustrate a point? It's not difficult to delete everything but the bits you want. That last email from Eric was 6 emails deep in some parts > > > > > >. And could you put those bits in q/a format like Emile requested? It's much easier to read something that is written and quoted point by point rather than something that you have to scroll between sections to keep up with the context or to refer to an important quote.
