Adam wants to keep [email protected] open in order to encourage people to 
post who might otherwise not want to subscribe to a mailing list.

Personally, I don't much see the point of unsubscribed posting given 
that replies are sent to the mailing list and not to the poster.  That 
is my opinion - Adam's is the one that counts.
