Well, this SON (State Of Niwi) is a little less positive than I
originally hoped it would be. Still, progress has been made and will
continue to be made.

I've really gone over and over the important engine widgets (clickable,
focusable, electable, redirectable) and even created another help
template (xwt.util.list). Aside from typos and theoretical idiocy, they
are in a very good state to be built upon.

The not so great news is that I haven't really tinkered with Nitrogen.
Whilst warming to the syntax changes and adapting quickly to them, I've
yet to delve fully into the new layout behaviour. It's very different
to Lithium and will take some getting used to. Not having an updated
binary until Tuesday didn't help either but that's me making excuses. :)

I'm out all tomorrow (something I forgot earlier in the week) so I won't
be able to do button/check/radio like I wanted to. I'm also not going
to have too much time next week as I move into my new home (yay!) and
have to scrub it up from a decorated-by-an-old-lady dusty retirement
home into a stylish contemporary shag pad.

Anyway, those basic widgets are on my agenda for next week. By the end
of next week, the core should be bigger, better, stronger etc. I'm
confident that the SON3 will be accompany more tangible progress.

There is one 'uh-oh' pot hole in the road ahead; the text widgets. The
only hope of mine is that David resurrects himself and nitrofies the
text widgets - we could be in a pickle if he doesn't or somebody else
doesn't take over his mantle.

Everybody direct positive vibes at David! *We love you David!* And
also at my pet rabbits who go under the knife tomorrow - from boys, to
men, to eunuchs, poor sods! *We love you, rabbits!*
